Products I Finished – March & April 2019

I’m speaking about two months of beauty products in this post. In April, I was experiencing technical difficulties that stopped me from updating.

I also started using the samples in a L’Occitane Advent Calendar I received. It explains why you’ll be reading through seven body lotion reviews.

Products I Finished – March & April 2019

Skincare

Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray (First Review)

My favourite thermal spring water spray.

Re-Purchase? YES. (c$16.50 – 150ml Standard-Size) – Canada Link

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (First Review)

My favourite hyaluronic acid serum.

Re-Purchase? YES. (c$6.80 – 30ml) – Canada Link

Makeup

Avene High Tolerance Black Mascara

This mascara suits someone with eyes that are sensitive and need easy removal. I bought this mascara right before my eye doctor told me to stop wearing eye makeup. Since, I can wear eye makeup now it’s better to buy a new mascara.

Re-Purchase? NO. (c$16 – 7ml)

Lip Smacker Halloween Day of The Dead Cinnamon Churros Lip Balm

Last October, it was thrilling to find a Lip Smacker sugar skull lip balm in the flavour cinnamon churros. It was fun to use and it lasted long past Halloween. Lip Smacker lip balms may not be the most moisturizing but they do come in such cute designs and flavours.

Re-Purchase? NO. (c$6.95 – 7.4g)

M.A.C. Velvet Teddy Matte Lipstick

In 2017, I had enough empties to take part in the M.A.C. recycling program. I chose the best selling shade velvet teddy to be my free lipstick. I found the matte formula to be drying and uncomfortable. Isn’t interesting when you don’t like the best sellers?

Re-Purchase? NO. (c$23 – 3g) – Canada Link

Quo Colour Swap Cosmetic Brush Refresher

Brush refreshers are for people who like intricate eye makeup. This tool lets you wipe your brush clean instead of switching to a fresh brush for a new product or shade. I’m not one to do complicated eye makeup and this tool was an impulse buy for me.

Re-Purchase? NO. (c$9)

Samples

Bite Beauty Chai Amuse Bouche Lipstick

I chose the Bite Beauty 2018 Birthday Gift from Sephora and didn’t use this mauve brown lipstick fast. It dried out.

Purchase? NO. (c$30 – 4.35g Full-Size) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Milk Concentrate

A moisturizing body cream with an almond scent.

Purchase? NO. (c$65 – 200ml Full-Size) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Shimmering Lotion

Out of all the samples I finished in March-April from the L’Occitane Advent Calendar this cherry blossom lotion is my favourite.

Purchase? MAYBE. (c$34 – 250ml) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Delightful Rose Hand Cream

A hand cream with a strong rose scent.

Purchase? NO. (c$12 – 30ml Mini-Size) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Shea Light Comforting Cream

This is body cream with a light fragrance. It isn’t memorable and you could find comparable drugstore options.

Purchase? NO. (c$34 – 50ml Full-Size) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Verbena Body Lotion

A light body lotion with a lemon scent.

Purchase? NO. (c$34 – 250ml) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Lotion

Similar to the L’Occitane Shea Light Comforting Cream except it’s a lotion.

Purchase? NO. (c$39 – 250ml) – Canada Link

L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Shower Cream

This shower cream does not replace a body lotion or cream – it’s best described as a moisturizing body wash.

Purchase? NO. (c$24 – 250ml) – Canada Link

O.P.I. AvoJuice Jasmine Hand & Body Lotion

A light lotion with avocado oil in the ingredients and a jasmine scent.

Purchase? NO. (c$9.95 – 250ml)

Sun Bum Banana Sunscreen Lip Balm

In June 2018, I received this lip balm in a run swag bag. It’s messy lip balm that tastes exactly like banana medicine. The scent would linger and you could taste the flavour when eating.

Purchase? NO. (c$3.99 – 4.25g) – Canada Link

The Body Shop British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub

I am not fond of scrubs because they feel rough on the skin and don’t lather. This one did have a lovely rose scent though.

Purchase? NO. (c$22 – 250ml) – Canada Link

Victoria’s Secret Ultra Rich Pomegranate Cream Wash

A moisturizing body wash with a pomegranate scent. This is my last product in my Victoria’s Secret set.

Purchase? NO. (c$?)

Other

Secret Clear Gel VaVa Vanilla Antiperspirant

I like how the clear gel didn’t transfer on clothes and how affordable the value size of this antiperspirant is. My everyday perfume and the artificial vanilla scent in this product did clash. I may try other scents in the future.

Re-Purchase? MAYBE. (c$5.97 – 73g Value Size)

Sensodyne Pronamel Gentle Whitening Toothpaste (First Review)

This has been my favourite SLS-Free toothpaste for over a year. That was until I saw an ad for a new SLS-Free toothpaste from Sensodyne called Pronamel Strong & Bright Enamel. I’ve now used both toothpastes they both have pros and cons. I’m torn on which one I will re-purchase.

Re-Purchase? MAYBE. (c$6.99 – 75ml Standard Size) – Canada Link

Systane Lid Wipes (First Review)

My favourite eyelid wipes.

Re-Purchase? YES. (c$10.97 – 32 Wipes)

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar Eau de Parfum

After finishing fourteen perfume samples in 2018, I chose Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar to be my first scent in 2019. The best way to describe it is to say that it smells like a sophisticated Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy or Aquolina Pink Sugar. It has notes of osmanthus, orange blossom, and gun powder accord.

Re-Purchase? NO. (c$36 – 7.5ml Mini-Size) – Canada Link
