The month of love has come and gone while the month of luck has arrived! February 2017 was full of hydrating skincare, lip gloss kisses, and maybe some chocolate too. Which is why I’m sharing with you the products I loved and admired so they don’t feel unnoticed.
Over the past month with a lot of trial and error I have been changing my skincare routine. I’m not going to reveal my whole skincare routine yet but I am going to talk about this cream that works so well with dry-combination skin. This Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream is a dream for people like me who break out due to a lack of hydration but are also super sensitive to oils and non-gel based creams.
In my Valentine’s Day Makeup Look, I mentioned that I finished my Urban Decay Naked Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer and went back to this drugstore favourite. I enjoy how the consistency of this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment is thinner, brighter, and appears less cakey on the skin.
I’m not sure if people can relate but I have a habit of saving my expensive products for special occasions. I realized mid-February that this was a bad decision because no matter how expensive a product is, it still goes bad. That is why I started using my Too Faced Shadow Insurance more regularly to prime my eyelids and to make my eyeshadow last all day.
In my Bite Beauty The Lip Pencil Makeup Look I mentioned this L’Oreal Paris La Palette in Nude 1 as an amazing neutral palette for someone who wants an inexpensive eyeshadow palette with great pigmentation. I’ve been trying to improve my eyeshadow applying skills and this palette makes it less frightening. It also compliments the Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara I’ve been wearing this month.
I was fortunate to collaborate with Bite Beauty and Influenster for their #TheLipPencil campaign in February. The Lip Pencil in 020 Beige Nude has become a favourite because it allows me to shape my lips before applying my everyday lipsticks.
This lipstick was also a part of #TheLipPencil campaign with Bite Beauty and Influenster. Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Whiskey has become my statement lipstick and has given me the confidence to purchase more dark shades.
Once you try one NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick, you might as well buy the whole collection. They are the best drugstore liquid lipsticks because of their pigmentation and unique colour selection. I’ve been wearing this red dusty rose shade in LIPLI12 Exotic because it’s the perfect combination of subtle and sexy.
In the month of February, I experienced extremely chapped lips and Eucerin Aquaphor was a best friend. It is hydrating, clear, fragrance-free, and doesn’t feel sticky on the lips.
On Instagram, I started to see a trend of people using floral mists to prime or set their makeup. I collaborated with Farmacy in June 2016 and added this mist to my routine again. I love how hydrating it is, the echinacea fragrance, and how I use it to prime or mist my makeup brushes.
I’ve been wearing comfortable undergarments for the month of February. I’m all about embracing what you’ve been given and not hiding in lining or padding. I’ve purchased the bralette in the photos from Aerie but you can find a similar one here.
Last but not least, how can I not mention chocolate as a favourite from February? Throughout out Valentine’s Day, you could find me snacking on those cookie and cream chocolates my mom gifted me.
