10 Affirmations To Tell Yourself

I was watching a YouTube video called Retrain Your Thinking with the motivational speaker Louise Hay and was completely inspired. She spoke about the power of saying daily affirmations to yourself in the mirror and how it could change your life. I am a firm believer in the law of attraction and that if you could actively say affirmations to yourself once a day in the mirror you could be more accepting of yourself.

10 Affirmations to Tell Yourself

1. (Your name), I love you. I really, really, love you.

I give full credit to Louise Hay for sharing this affirmation. She says that people at the beginning of coaching may have incredible difficulty looking in the mirror and saying that they love themselves. It’s not about vanity, it’s about truly accepting and loving who you are.

2. I am worthy of a good life.

You were given this one life and it wasn’t meant to be filled with negativity or anxiety. You are worthy of a good life.

3. I have everything I need.

This affirmation is wonderful for people who are trying to achieve a minimalistic lifestyle. How many times have you looked in the mirror and said “I have nothing to wear” when you have a closet full of clean clothes?

4. I am grateful.

The universe loves grateful people and Louise Hay describes gratitude so simply. For example, if you were given a gift and immediately said: “Oh you got the wrong colour” – do you think that person would want to buy you a gift again? Probably not. Be grateful for every experience and then make changes if you don’t enjoy it.

5. I am loved unconditionally by many.

How many of us have gone through a tough break-up or family fight that made us feel incredibly lonely afterwards? Use this affirmation to remind yourself that even in difficult moments you are loved and supported by many.

6. I am beautiful.

This affirmation can effective for people who are experiencing body image issues or skin issues. Instead of waking up in the morning and examining your skin for new blemishes or wrinkles, tell yourself that you’re beautiful.

7. I can do it.

Louise Hay speaks about how it’s very easy to subconsciously say 300 negative affirmations about yourself in a day. Just think about how different your life would if you said “I can do it.” instead of saying “I literally cannot” when you still have to complete the task.

8. I am talented and passionate.

This affirmation can be so beneficial if you are applying or looking for employment. Every time you read a job description that suits your skills, whisper to yourself “I am talented and passionate.”

9. I am content.

The quotation “Comparison is the thief of joy.” reigns true. If you can look into the mirror and say that you’re content with what you have or what you are doing, the stresses and pressures of others can melt away.

10. Your favourite quotation.

My all-time favourite quotation is “Be brave, take risks, nothing substitutes experience.” Saying your favourite quote in the mirror can be comforting and a powerful mantra for your life.
